WORD organised Training Program for the Internal Complaint Committee Members in the Textile Industries in Co-ordination with Tamilnadu State Commission for Women and District Social Welfare Department-Namakkal at Hotel Radhaprasadh, Tiruchengode in Namakkal District on 29th November, 2018.
The Protection Officer District Social Welfare Office, Mrs. S. Nagamani participated in the meeting and expressed the importance of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and the role of the members of the ICC in addressing the sexual complaints and issues at their workplaces. She also urge the managements of the Textile Industries to register their hostels with the social welfare department, Namakkal and to register the names of the interstate migrant workers details with the local police stations.
Mrs. M. Renida Sarala, Director & the member, Local Complaints Committee, Namakkal District narrated in detail about the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act-2013 and the provisions of the act.
Mr. Sathrack Dinakaran, Project Manager, WORD trained the members on the roles and responsibilities of ICC members, Complaints Mechanisms, Procedures on dealing with the complaints, documentation and reporting as per the rules of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act-2013.
The ICC members of 28 Spinning Mills were trained during this training program.
