Awareness on Human Rights through Folk Media Programs

WORD organised awareness programs on Human Rights through folk media in Pallipalayam, Veppadai and Kumarapalayam to mark the International Human Rights Day. 

All the folk media program addressed on the issues of child rights violation and trafficking.

Relief Works in the most affected places in Thanjavur and Thiruvarur Districts after the Cyclone Gaja

Cyclone Gaja devastated the lives of people especially in Nagai, Thiruvarur, Thanjavur and Pudukkottai districts in Tamilnadu in November 2018.

With the support of Fullerton India Credit Company Limited, WORD supported 1000 families with relief materials with the immediate household needs of Cooking materials- including Rice & Dhall; bed sheets, mosquito coils and candles in the most affected villages in and around Pattukkottai of Thanjavur District and in Thiruvarur District. 

WORD also in partnership of SHED India, the local NGO in Thanjavur District to conduct 7 Health Camps and with the support of NAMCO in Thiruvarur District to conduct 8 Health Camps for the affected people. 

Training to the members of the Internal Complaints Committee Members in Namakkal District

WORD organised Training Program for the Internal Complaint Committee Members in the Textile Industries in Co-ordination with Tamilnadu State Commission for Women and District Social Welfare Department-Namakkal at Hotel Radhaprasadh, Tiruchengode in Namakkal District on 29th November, 2018. 

The Protection Officer District Social Welfare Office, Mrs. S. Nagamani participated in the meeting and expressed the importance of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and the role of the members of the ICC in addressing the sexual complaints and issues at their workplaces. She also urge the managements of the Textile Industries to register their hostels with the social welfare department, Namakkal and to register the names of the interstate migrant workers details with the local police stations. 

Mrs. M. Renida Sarala, Director & the member, Local Complaints Committee, Namakkal District narrated in detail about the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act-2013 and the provisions of the act. 

Mr. Sathrack Dinakaran, Project Manager, WORD trained the members on the roles and responsibilities of ICC members, Complaints Mechanisms, Procedures on dealing with the complaints, documentation and reporting as per the rules of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act-2013. 

The ICC members of 28 Spinning Mills were trained during this training program. 

கிராமப்புற பெண்களுக்கு இன்டர்நெட் கற்றுத்தரும் இன்டர்நெட் நண்பர்கள் திட்ட துவக்க விழா

நாமக்கல் மாவட்டத்தில் கூகிள் இந்தியா, டாடா டிரஸ்ட் மற்றும் வாய்ஸ் பவுண்டேஷன் உதவியுடன் கிராமப்புற மகளிர் மேம்பாட்டு மையம் (வோர்ட்) மூலம் கிராமப்புற பெண்களுக்கு இன்டர்நெட் கற்றுத்தரும் இன்டர்நெட் சாதி (நண்பர்கள்) திட்டம் செயல்படுத்தப்பட உள்ளது.

தமிழகம் முழுவதும்  செயல்படுத்தப்பட உள்ள இத்திட்டத்தின் மூலம் நாமக்கல் மாவட்டத்தில் 85 பெண்கள் இன்டர்நெட் சாதி(நண்பர்கள்) ஆக கண்டறியப்பட்டு அவர்களுக்கான பயிற்சி இன்று நாமக்கல் பொரசபாளையம் வோர்ட் நிறுவன அலுவலகத்தில் இன்று தொடங்கியது.  மூன்று கட்டங்களாக நடைபெரும் இப்பயிற்சியில் மொபைல் போன்கள் மூலம் இணைய பயன்பாடு குறித்த பயிற்சி வழங்கப்படுகிறது. 

பயிற்சி பெற்ற 85 இன்டர்நெட் நண்பர்களுக்கும் 2 ஆண்ட்ராய்டு மொபைல் போன்கள் வழங்கப்படும். அவர்கள் தங்களுக்கு வழங்கப்படும் மொபைல் போன்களை கிராமங்களுக்கு எடுத்து சென்று கிராமப்புற மகளிருக்கு இணைய பயன்பாடு குறித்த பயிற்சிகளை வழங்குவார்கள். மேலும் இணையதள தொழில்நுட்ப பயன்பாடு குறித்து  கற்பித்து அனைத்து வகையிலும் கிராமப்புற பெண்களின் தனித்திறன்களை மேம்படுத்தி அவர்களின் வாழ்வாதாரத்தை பெருக்குவதே இத்திட்டதின் முக்கிய நோக்கமாகும். 

கூகிள் இந்தியா நிறுவனத்தின் இன்டர்நெட் சாதி திட்ட பயிற்சியாளர் ஹேமந்த் மொபைல் போன்கள் மூலம் இணைய பயன்பாடு குறித்து பயிற்சியளித்தார். 

அடுத்த ஆறு மாத காலம் நடைபெறும் இத்திட்டத்தின் மூலம் நாமக்கல் மாவட்டத்தில் 51000 கிராப்புற பெண்களுக்கு  இணையதள தொழில்நுட்ப பயன்பாடு குறித்த பயிற்சியை பயிற்சி பெற்ற 85 இன்டர்நெட் நண்பர்கள் வழங்குவார்கள்.  

இத்திட்டத்தின் துவக்க விழாவில் நாமக்கல் மாவட்ட சமூக நல அலுவலர் முனைவர் அன்பு பங்கேற்று இன்டர்நெட் சாதி (நண்பர்களுக்கு) மொபைல் போன்களை வழங்கி இத்திட்டை துவக்கி வைத்தார். அவர் தனது உரையில் இத்திட்டத்தினை ஆக்கபூர்வமாக பயன்படுத்தி கிராமப்புற மகளிரின் திறனை மேம்படுத்தி சமூக பொருளாதார பிரச்சனைகளை எதிர்கொள்ளும் வகையில் தயார்படுத்த பயிற்சியாளர்கள் பாடுபட வேண்டும் என கேட்டுக்கொண்டார். 

இப்பயிற்சியில் துவக்க விழாவில் வோர்ட் நிறுவன இயக்குனர் திருமதி ரெனிடா சரளா, திட்ட மேலாளர் திரு ராஜ்மோகன், ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர்கள் திரு ராபின் ராஜா, திருமதி ரமா, திருமதி தமிழ்வாணி, கூகிள் இந்தியா நிறுவனத்தின் இன்டர்நெட் சாதி திட்ட பயிற்சியாளர் ஹேமந்த், வாய்ஸ் பவுண்டேஷன் நிறுவன மண்டல ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர் திரு ராமு உள்ளிட்டோர் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.
